The Amazon announced that, effective 10 June 2026, the Luna Cloud Game platform would no longer support third-party games stores, single purchases and external subscriptions.

According to Amazon, the strategy for its third-party services is being adjusted and “is transitioning from some subscriptions, games stores and single-point purchase models to a way that we consider to be more beneficial to customers in the long term”. As of 10 June, only players with standard or advanced subscriptions can play the Luna game in the game library. The stores of EA, Nubita and Gog will no longer be available on Luna. In addition, the Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Gates services, which were subscribed to through Luna, will be discontinued. The “self-carrying game library” function (allowing players to play games purchased on other platforms) will also be removed.

Games obtained through these channels can still be played upstream of Luna before the end of their use and will be removed. Players can continue to access these games through associated third-party accounts. The Amazon would therefore not provide a refund. Players can download game files within 90 days after 10 June. But the Amazon can’t guarantee that these documents are compatible with other game services. The Amazon Luna was launched in 2020 to compete with other cloud games such as Google, Microsoft and PlayStation. Before doing so, Luna needs a separate subscription. The standard service is now included among the Amazon Prime members, while the advanced version offers a wider range of game options.
